Quality Assurance is Intertek's in-depth approach to assure clients' suppliers have a quality system, that they use the system, and that it is effective. Intertek's extensive audit of the current production process encompasses a review of supplier and manufacturer quality programs, facilities, standards, purchasing practices, statistical evaluations, and manufacturing and design control practices. Findings are used as the basis for a plan - including detailed specifications for each step - to effectively and safely produce the product.

Once under way, the manufacturing process is documented in Intertek's database, Intertek Net. Among data collected is information on equipment performance and materials, and compliance with safety standards. Safety evaluation is performed during and after manufacturing, and Intertek reviews all documentation to ensure standards were met.

Intertek directs corrective action if any problems or safety inadequacies are found. This might involve steps to form a problem solving team, prepare a recurrence prevention plan, and manage customer feedback and response.

Intertek verifies that every product produced by the manufacturing process meets or exceeds the company's safety standards.

Intertek works with companies to improve product safety and quality by refining their manufacturing processes. The range of services includes:
