Sharing the Intertek Experience
16 Dec 2014
Recent Podcast helps share Intertek’s capabilities.
there is an incredible variety of ways intertek can help manufacturers, brands, retailers, distributors, and suppliers worldwide. to educate the marketplace about our capabilities, we often reach out through fun and unique venues to share information about our business experience and expertise.
it was in that vein that i recently helped share the intertek experience with members of the national electrical manufacturers association (nema) through a nemacasts podcast. hosted by nema's chrissy skudera, the podcast offers insight on movers and shakers in the electroindustry, as well as industry trends and topics. intertek's podcast was part of nema's illumination weekend sponsor series, as we are a longtime sponsor of nema's illumination weekend event, which took place november 6–8, 2014, at the grand del mar hotel and resort in san diego.
in the podcast, i discussed our work as a testing, certification, and inspection company providing quality, safety, performance, regulatory compliance, labeling, and advisory services for a range of products. intertek's work with nema is focused on being responsive to the membership and integrating the needs of manufacturers with our industry leadership and dedication.
for instance, our depth of services and expertise in global regulations and technologies for lighting products can provide guidance to manufacturers across a variety of industries looking to either market lighting products, or to integrate new led lighting technologies into existing products. for other manufacturers, the desire to integrate wireless controls into their products presents new challenges in terms of safety and performance. here again, intertek's expertise in domestic and global wireless regulations bridges a gap for manufacturers so they can focus on their core competencies while still accessing new markets like the "connected home." manufacturers can receive intertek's etl mark for products, which proves compliance to all requisite north american safety standards, as well as the ce mark or equivalent marks for other global markets. with our focus on global reach and manufacturer-focused partnership, we are able to offer manufacturers the chance to reduce their product development costs and improve their overall speed to market.
in working with nema members, we want to share our service capabilities and our ongoing investments in new opportunities to help them achieve the best in their current and future products. we also want to partner with nema members to address specific business challenges and innovate solutions throughout the member supply chain, with issues such as hazardous chemicals in raw materials or components, counterfeiting, or research into opening new global markets for products.
you can hear the podcast here, and, for 2015, nema's illuminations weekend event will take place november 6–8, 2015, at the ritz-carlton in washington, dc. we hope to see you there!
