Construction Products Regulation (CPR)

Intertek offers a comprehensive suite of Notified Body services in support of compliance to the EU Construction Products Regulation No 305/2011

The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) No 305/2011, is intended to make products arriving in any European Union country safe to use and install.

The added value of CE marking is that all EU countries must allow the selling of construction products bearing the CE mark. This means that public authorities cannot ask for any additional marks or certificates, let alone additional testing. Therefore you or the distributors of your product are able to trade your product in any country of the European Internal Market with the same documentation.

Together with the Declaration of Performance this will also help your customers and final users to check the performance of the product and compare it with other products under the same technical approach.

The CE marking contains certain essential information about the product and provides a link to other additional documents which also contain important information.

As a Notified Body in the EU, Intertek's scope covers products that require the highest category of validation - (AVCP (Assessment and verification of constancy of performance) System 1) which must involve the independent expertise of a Notified Body, and an FPC (Factory Production Control) audit.

The assessment of the product is done by defining the value of a list of characteristics called essential characteristics. You will find the full list in the annex ZA of the harmonised standards and in the European Assessment Documents (EAD). The list can be different for each intended use and in the case of your product with more than one intended use the list should cover the characteristics linked to each of them. The list also includes the AVCP system for each essential characteristic. The AVCP system applicable to each essential characteristic will require in some cases that a Notified Body performs some additional tasks

Intertek can issue the CE Marking in accordance with the following standards:

How we can help you reach global markets

Many manufacturers are interested in finding out if their existing European products will meet the North American requirements. Intertek offers the support you need to help identify where pitfalls may be present. This can open up new markets for European companies previously discouraged from entering the market because of poor service from other providers and complex requirements. Intertek keeps it simple, and helps you grow globally into new markets all over the world. Our UK-based Conformity Assessment Body, accredited by UKAS, is dedicated to helping you achieve and sustain compliance with national regulations, both today and as they evolve.
