Intertek experts to present at HazardEx 2020, the annual UK hazardous area safety conference

Intertek presentation will focus on sharing expertise and insights on certification markings and compliance for hazardous location equipment
(Chester, UK) Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, will be a keynote participant at the HazardEx 2020 exhibition and conference taking place in Harrogate, UK from 26th – 27th February 2020.
The two-day event will focus on hazardous area operations and process safety, as well as evolving areas such as autonomous solutions and cybersecurity. Intertek’s subject-matter experts will share their insights into the marking requirements for hazardous location equipment. Despite their common appearance on almost everything purchased for industrial, commercial or personal use, equipment markings are one of the least understood and most error filled items for manufacturers when undergoing the compliance and certification process.
When markings are incorrect or not correctly understood, it can lead to misunderstanding of the original manufacturer’s intent for the equipment, such as installation location or capabilities, which may then lead to incorrect equipment being purchased for end-user applications. Intertek’s presentation will seek to inform equipment manufacturers and end users about what the various markings typically placed on equipment mean and why certification bodies require certain markings to be shown. Intertek experts will share details on hazardous locations markings for international markets, via the IECEx and ATEX schemes.
