Intertek Presents Latest TSCA Updates at The Chemical Watch TSCA Developments Meeting

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, will be presenting during the Chemical Watch TSCA Developments meeting taking place virtually on June 9, 2021.
This one-day virtual event will inform attendees of the latest TSCA developments since the law was amended in 2016. Delegates will have the chance to learn from and network with industry stakeholders and will be able to participate in live Q&A sessions.

SESSION TWO: RISK MANAGEMENT, CBI AND TSCA’S IMPACT ON SCIENTIFIC POLICY
- Topic: Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) chemicals rules under TSCA | 3:50PM EDT
- Description: TSCA section 6(h) requires the EPA to take action on specific persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) substances to address risk and reduce exposures. On 06 January 2021, the EPA issued actions on five such substances. Even with EPA's transparent rule making process, some manufacturers and importers of products that contain these substances were unaware of the extent of the regulation, and in the case of Phenol, isopropylated phosphate (3:1) (PIP (3:1)), they were unaware of its widespread use. During this presentation, we will discuss the 5 PBT substances, the new comment period for the reexamination of the rules, and the hold on enforcement for PIP. We will also look at some supply chain management ideas to effectively comply with these and similar regulations.
