Intertek Participates at the American Clean Power Operations, Maintenance, and Safety 2025 Conference
14 Feb 2025
March 3–5 Intertek's Asset Integrity Management team will exhibit during the American Clean Power Operations, Maintenance, and Safety (ACP OMS) Conference 2025 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.
During this three-day event, Intertek AIM General Manager, Rana Ghosh and Senior Engineer, Michael Liu. will be available at Intertek AIM booth #209 in the Ryman Exhibit Hall. They will not only share information on our Asset Management Wind Energy Services and WindAware Software, but also discuss with you the cost drivers and reliability of wind turbines; pitfalls to watch for when buying older assets, and common and not-so-common failures.
On Tuesday March 4th at 9:00 AM at our booth #209, Rana and Michael will conduct a WindAware demonstration. WindAware is a software solution that helps owners and operators manage inspection and performance data, maintain reliability and safety, and minimize costly equipment failure. Benefits include improved decision-making, ensuring accuracy and standardization, and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance activities. Visit our booth during this time to gain insight on how this application can be implemented and the benefits that can be applied to your wind farm.
Also join, Michael on Tuesday, March 4th from 5 PM – 6 PM while he presents: Case Studies in Onshore Wind Turbine Component Reliability and Failure Analysis during the Poster and Networking Session in Ryman Exhibit Hall. His presentation will include a focused exploration of real-world case studies, detailing the causes, effects, and resolutions of failures in key onshore wind turbine components, such as blades, gearboxes, generators, and support structures. It emphasizes the critical role of metallurgical analysis in understanding the failure mechanisms of metallic components, identifying material defects, fatigue patterns, corrosion, and other wear factors. This topic also provides a platform to share innovative diagnostic and monitoring techniques, lessons learned, and best practices for preventing similar issues in future turbine designs and installations.
This topic could include areas such as:
- Blade issues in fatigue and wear
- Metallurgical analysis of gearbox and drivetrain components for identifying failure modes
- Generator degradation due to environmental and metallurgical factors
- Bearing wear analysis, lubrication strategies, and metallurgical wear patterns
- Structural failure analysis
