The first packaging standard to be recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), BRCGS Packaging Materials is now in its 7th issue and has become the global industry benchmark for packaging excellence.
BRCGS Packaging Materials sets out the requirements for the manufacture of packaging and packaging materials used in food packaging and filling operations and for cosmetics, toiletries and other consumer products and materials.
Certification to the BRCGS Packaging Materials Global Standard helps a site or operation demonstrate they are providing products that are quality assured, legally compliant, and authentic.
The Standard has attained usage worldwide not only by food packaging producers, but also producers of packaging for all applications at all levels of the supply chain for example hygiene-sensitive consumer products such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and single use disposable products such as paper napkins.
