Training Program – Intertek Academy

Hours: 16

Calibration is a key component in all systems where instruments are used to collect measurements for purpose of assessing the reliability and capability of manufacturing operations, testing products against specification in laboratories, and determining compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. The accuracy of such measurements is dependent on regular calibration of the measuring instruments.

Topics that will be covered:

DAY - 1

  • Concept of Calibration
  • Explanation of terminology used
  • Basic Requirements of Calibration
  • Selection of measurement tools and instruments and interpretation of accuracy statements
  • Basic Calibration Parameters
  • Calibration Frequency
  • Examples of Instrument calibration
  • Interpretation of calibration certificate

DAY - 2

  • Principles of Uncertainty of Measurement
  • Concept of Uncertainty of measurement
  • Related Terms of Uncertainty
  • Estimation of uncertainty in measurements
  • Identifying uncertainty sources
  • Reporting of uncertainty

Since the events of September 11, 2001, international governments and customs organizations have implemented supply chain security standards to secure trade, protect against terrorist weapons and to combat illegal trafficking. The enhanced supply chain security standards and criteria, including C-TPAT, PIP and AEO, have been embraced and implemented by the global trade community. As part of enforcing and adhering to the international supply chain security standards, companies must assess their supply chain to identify, mitigate and eliminate potential security risks.

Objective:

Intertek’s GSV program employs a cutting-edge methodology for promoting best practices throughout the global trade industry, enabling importers and suppliers to mitigate risks associated with the cross-border transport of goods, while simultaneously expediting their arrival at destination markets. Best practices are achieved through the effective utilization of resources, structured processes and innovation. Intertek’s GSV program integrates multiple global supply chain security initiatives, including C-TPAT, PIP and AEO. Our mission is to partner with international suppliers and importers to drive the development of a global security verification process, resulting in increased safety assurance, risk control, efficiency and cost savings for all participants.

Benefits of the training

    • How to leverage efforts through a common industry platform and collaboration
    • Ways to delivers effective data gathering, analysis and reporting capabilities that allow for risk mitigation and more informed decision making for all supply chain partners
    • How to reduces audit fatigue by enabling suppliers to share their verification reports with various importers, allowing them to prioritize resources towards learning and continuous improvement versus repeat auditing

Who should attend?

    • New and existing practitioners whose job duties involve CSR audits
    • Those who intend to seek a career in the auditing industry
    • Individuals who are concerned about corporate social responsibility are welcome to join.
