Intertek announces board change

Intertek Group plc (Intertek), the leading provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries around the world, announces that Mark Loughead will retire from his role as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director on Intertek's Board of Directors after a successful 22 year career with the company.
Mark will step down from the Board on 31 December 2010. He will remain with the Group to ensure a smooth handover of his responsibilities before retiring during 2011.
Vanni Treves, Chairman said:
"On behalf of Intertek, I would like to thank Mark for his dedicated service over the last 22 years and for the significant contribution he has made to the Group as Chief Operating Officer, as a Director and as Chief of the Oil, Chemical & Agri division previously. He leaves the Board with our gratitude and best wishes for his retirement from the company next year."
Wolfhart Hauser, Chief Executive Officer said:
"Mark has successfully headed our global 'Intertek as One' initiative, helping transition the Group into our cross-divisional country management structure and improving the cohesion and consolidation of back office IT systems and other cross-stream developments. We thank him greatly for his contributions."
