Sofia, Bulgaria —Intertek, (LSE: ITRK), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world launched the first conference in a five part series on Strategic Leadership in the 21st Century at the beginning of October. 

Experts from around the world delivered presentations on the global approaches and policies surrounding risk management and Business Continuity Management (BCM). High profile companies within Bulgaria also shared their experience on the implementation of both systems, as well as their approaches on global risk policy models, BCM best practices within critical infrastructures, and an introduction to ISO 22301:2012 – the new International Standard for BCM.

BCM and Business Resilience are key components of the Global Risk Policy Model. The global systemic risk development requires a new network-centric thinking and a proactive approach for effective Business Resilience Building. Reducing the vulnerabilities and minimizing the contemporary threats’ impact have a critical role in providing more sustainable and safer business environments, and continual business improvements.
