Intertek employee shortlisted for Energy North Award

Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, is celebrating award success for new talent as the company was shortlisted in the Best Trainee/Apprentice Energy North Award.

Richard Taylor-Craig received this accolade for his work at Intertek, which has taken him from Nigg, Scotland and offshore in the North Sea to South Korea and Singapore. Previously, he spent seven years as a Royal Engineer serving in the British Army.

Relocating his life from the South East of England, Richard started working at Intertek's Alness, Scotland base in January. His technical skills gained in the Army have been a solid basis for him to build a strong future career at Intertek and this commendation highlights his successful transition into the oil and gas sector.

This comes as the team changes to a new international identity within Intertek. Previously known as Hi-CAD Technical Services and Intertek Asset Integrity Management, the Alness-based team of experts for laser scanning and dimensional control is now Intertek Surveying Services.

The Energy North Best Trainee/Apprentice award is aimed at an individual who has shown true promise during a training or apprenticeship scheme, making an impact on their organisation and standing out from the crowd.

Richard said: "Intertek has been excellent in supporting my transition from the military into oil and gas and I am really pleased that my work has been recognised in this way. I am excited about the future opportunities as part of Intertek Surveying Services and look forward to developing my skills further."

In addition to Scotland, the almost 100-strong Intertek Surveying Services team has offices in the USA, Australia and Brazil, and helps customers meet engineering, construction and asset record challenges. As part of this team, the Alness base is part of a global network of experts in this field.
