Seven of the substances listed are phthalates, which have uses as plasticisers for polymer material. They may be used in the manufacturing processes of a range of consumer products constructed from as artificial leather such as handbags, belts and garments and footwear with synthetic components.
These substances, once they are approved to be included on the Authorisation List, cannot be placed on the market or used after the so called “sunset date”.
These substances can then only be used with permission from ECHA.
