Results of China Market Textile and Footwear Spot Checks in April 2015

Garments
The Weihai Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for garments. The spot check inspected 69 batches of samples; 8 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products.” The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to water, odor, AZO, fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration and pH value.
Primary failed items: fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water and pH value.
Infant and Children’s Garments and Cotton Wadded Clothes (Cotton Wadded Quilt)
The Weihai Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for infant and children’s garments and cotton wadded clothes (cotton wadded quilt). The spot check inspected 22 batches of infant and children’s garments and 3 batches of infant and children’s cotton wadded clothes (cotton wadded quilt); 6 batches of garments and 2 batches of cotton wadded clothes (cotton wadded quilt) were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest – Part 4: Textiles and apparel” and related standards. The key items inspected on infant and children’s garments were label, fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to saliva, colorfastness to washing, formaldehyde, pH value and AZO. The key items inspected on infant and children’s cotton wadded clothes (cotton wadded quilt) were label, fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to wet rubbing, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to saliva, colorfastness to washing, formaldehyde, pH value and AZO.
Primary failed items: infant and children’s garments: label, fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing; infant and children’s cotton wadded clothes (cotton wadded quilt): label, fiber content and pH value.
Garments, Silk Quilts and Bedding
The Guangxi Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for garments, silk quilts and bedding.

The Huzhou Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for children’s garments that were sold online. The spot check inspected 80 batches of samples; 9 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles –Identification of fiber content.” The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value and AZO.
Primary failed items: fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value and AZO.
Casual Wear, Women’s and Men's Trousers and Women’s Leather Footwear
The XI’AN Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for casual wear, women’s and men's trousers and women’s leather footwear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest – Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles –Identification of fiber content,” FZ/T 73001-2008 “Hosiery,” FZ/T 73031-2009 “Pressure socks,” FZ/T 73030-2009 “Knitted foot cover,” FZ/T 73037-2010 “Knitted sports socks” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to saliva, colorfastness to washing and stretchability in widthwise direction.
Primary failed items: pH value, colorfastness to washing, fiber content and stretchability in widthwise direction.
Leather Footwear, Children’s Leather Footwear and Fur Garments
The Zhejiang Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for leather footwear, children’s leather footwear and fur garments.

The Zhengzhou Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for footwear. The spot check inspected 20 batches of samples; 8 batches were found unqualified.
The key items inspected on leather shoes were appearance, peeling strength of upper and sole, whole shoe flexing, abrasion resistance of outsole, attachment strength of heel, heel hardness, upper pull out strength, identification, stiffness of shank, hardness of shank and AZO; The key items inspected on casual shoes were appearance, peeling strength, flexing resistance, abrasion resistance, colorfastness to rubbing of insole, upper pull out strength, AZO and free formaldehyde; The key items inspected on athletic footwear were appearance, peeling strength of upper and sole, peeling strength of upper and foxing, whole shoe flexing, abrasion resistance of outsole, colorfastness to rubbing of lining and insole, AZO and free formaldehyde.
Primary failed items: identification, flexing resistance, AZO, stiffness of shank (longitudinal stiffness), peeling strength of upper and sole, heel hardness and whole shoe flexing.
