Products with Filling Materials (Pillows and Quilts)

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for products with filling materials (pillows and quilts). The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; no batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 18383-2007 “General technical requirements for products with filling materials,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles - Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts, quilt cover,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and Pillow,” GB/T 24252-2009 “Silk quilts” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to saliva, fiber content, down content, duck feather (down) content, oxygen number, microorganism and  material requirements of filling and stuffing.

 

Athletic Footwear

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for athletic footwear. The spot check inspected 45 batches of samples; 2 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB/T 15107-2013 “Athletic shoes” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were appearance, peeling strength, flexing resistance, abrasion resistance, adhesion of midsole and outsole, colorfastness to rubbing, formaldehyde and Azo.

Primary failed items: flexing resistance and abrasion resistance.

 

UV-protection Wear

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection (risk monitor) for UV-protection wear. The spot check inspected 20 batches of samples; 16 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB/T 18830-2009 “Textiles - Evaluation for solar ultraviolet radiation protective properties” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were UPF, UVA, T (UVA) AV.

Primary failed items: solar ultraviolet radiation protective properties.

 

School Uniforms

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for school uniforms. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; 1 batch was found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest - Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862 “Textiles - Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 2660 “Shirts and Blouses,” GB/T 2664 “Men's Suit and Coats,” GB/T 2665 “Women's Suit and Coats,” GB/T 2666 “Trousers,” GB/T 22849 “Knitted T-shirt,” GB/T 22853 “Knitted Sportswear,” GB/T 22854 “Knitted School Uniform,” GB/T 23328 “Woven Garments for Students,” FZ/T 73026 “Knitted Skirt and Lady Suit,” FZ/T 81003 “Children's Clothing and Student's Wear,” FZ/T 81004 “Skirts and Skirted suit,” FZ/T 81007 “Casual Wear” and related standards. The key items inspected on woven samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to light and pilling. The key items inspected on knitted samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to light and perspiration, pilling and cross staining.

Primary failed items: fiber content, colorfastness to perspiration and colorfastness to water.

 

School Uniforms

The Beijing Municipal Administration of Quality and Technology supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for school uniforms. The spot check inspected 34 batches of samples; 2 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest - Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 22702 “Standard safety size for drawstrings on children’s upper wear,” GB/T 22705 “Safety specifications for cords and drawstrings on children’s clothing” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness, standard safety size for drawstrings on children's upper wear and safety specifications for cords and drawstrings on children's clothing.

Primary failed items: fiber content.

 

School Uniforms

The Liaoning Administration of Quality and Technology supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for school uniforms. The spot check inspected 45 batches of samples; 6 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to FZ/T 81003-2003 “Children's Clothing and Student's Wear,” GB/T 22854-2009 “Knitted School Uniform,” GB/T 23328-2009 “Woven Garments for Students,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to light, colorfastness to light and perspiration, banned Azo dyestuff and seam strength .

Primary failed items: fiber content, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to light and seam strength.

 

Bedding

The Liaoning Administration of Quality and Technology supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for bedding. The spot check inspected 35 batches of samples; 4 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts, quilt cover,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and Pillow,” GB/T 24252-2009 “Silk quilts,” FZ/T 62019-2012 “Quilt with craft quilting,” FZ/T 81005-2006 “Quilting goods,” GB/T 22797-2009 “Sheet,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration and material requirements of filling and stuffing.

Primary failed items: colorfastness to alkali perspiration and colorfastness to dry rubbing.

The key items inspected on these samples were label, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to washing and dimensional stability to washing.

Primary failed items: pH value and dimensional stability to washing.

 

Knitted Underwear

The Administration of Quality and Technology supervision of Guangzhou Municipality launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for knitted underwear. The spot check inspected 57 batches of samples; 20 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest - Part 4: Textiles and apparel” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were label, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to rubbing and colorfastness to washing.

Primary failed items: label, fiber content and formaldehyde.

 

Children’s Footwear

The Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for children’s footwear. The spot check inspected 98 batches of samples; 10 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to QB/T 4331-2012 “Children’s athletic shoes,” GB/T 15107-2013 “Athletic shoes,” GB 25036-2010 “Children's canvas rubber footwear (shoes),” GB 30585-2014 “Safety technical specifications for children’s footwear” and QB/T 2673-2013 “Footwear-Specification of marking”. The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, abrasion resistance of outsole, peeling strength of upper and sole, bond strength of foxing and upper and outsole hardness.

Primary failed items: abrasion resistance of outsole.

The Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for garments and textiles, leather sandals, washed feather and down, products with filling materials and children’s and infant garments.
