From 17 April 2016, toys entering the Indonesia market must be tested by the appointed testing laboratories located in Indonesia for the SNI certification as the two-year stay period for overseas testing laboratories has ended.

Under the regulation of the Ministry of Industry No. 24/M-IND/PER/4/2013 (amended by 55/M-IND/PER/11/2013), below is the compulsory Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for toys:

SNI IEC 62115:2011 Electrical toys
EN71-5 Phthalates
SNI 7617:2013/Amd-1:2014 Non Azo
SNI 7617:2013/Amd-1:2014 Formaldehyde

Intertek Indonesia (PT. Intertek Utama Services) is one of the laboratories appointed by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. In addition, Intertek has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Indonesian product certification bodies (LSPro) to support the toy industry in meeting compliance requirements.
