Leather Garments

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for leather garments. The spot check inspected 50 batches of samples; 5 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to “Technical specification for quality supervision and spot check of leather garment products in Shanghai,” QB/T 1615-2006 “Leather Garments,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were materials of shells and trims, sewing requirement, appearance, tearing strength (leather), colorfastness of rubbing (leather), labeling and marking, free formaldehyde (leather), Azo (leather), formaldehyde (textile), Azo (textile), colorfastness to water, colorfastness to acid perspiration, colorfastness to alkaline perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, pH value, odor.

Primary failed items: tearing strength (leather) and Azo (textile)

 

Cashmere Knitting Products

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a product quality supervision and inspection for cashmere knitting products. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; 3 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” FZ/T 73009-2009 “Cashmere knitting goods,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textile-Identification of fiber content” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to washing, dimensional stability, determination of dichloromethane-soluble matter and bursting strength.

Primary failed items: colorfastness to acid perspiration, colorfastness to alkaline perspiration, dimensional stability to relaxation and felting, determination of dichloromethane-soluble matter

 

Children’s Apparel

The Songyuan Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a product quality supervision and inspection for children’s apparel manufactured in Shenzhen, Zhejiang, Shantou and Foshan. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; 11 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and related standards declared on the labels. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness (to dry rubbing, acid and alkaline perspiration, water, saliva,), etc.

Primary failed items: pH value, fiber content, color fastness (to dry rubbing, saliva)

The Tonghua Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a product quality supervision and inspection for children’s apparel manufactured in Shantou, Guangdong. The spot check inspected 70 batches of samples; 57 batches were found unqualified. 

This spot check was conducted according to mandatory standard GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” on test items of formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to water and odor, etc. Based on mandatory standard GB 5296.4-2012 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” user instruction was inspected. Based on GB/T 29862-2013 “Textile-Identification of fiber content,” fiber content was analyzed. According to the product standard declared on the label, test items of colorfastness to wet rubbing, colorfastness to home and commercial laundry, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to dry cleaning, pilling, dimensional stability to relaxation were also inspected.

Wool Knitting Products

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a product quality supervision and inspection for wool knitting products. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; 3 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862 “Textile-Identification of fiber content,” FZ/T 73018 “Wool knitting goods,” FZ/T 73034 “Semi-worsted wool knitting goods” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water.

Primary failed item: fiber content

 

Sportswear

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a product quality supervision and inspection for sportswear. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; 1 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862 “Textile-Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 22849 “Knitted T-shirt,” GB/T 22854 “Knitted school uniform,” GB/T 23328 “Woven garments for students,” FZ/T 73020 “Knitted casual wear,” FZ/T 81003 “Children's clothing and student's wear,” FZ/T 81007 “Casual wear” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to light and perspiration, colorfastness to washing, cross staining.

Primary failed item: fiber content

 

Knitted (Thermal) Underwear

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a product quality supervision and inspection for knitted (thermal) underwear. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; no batch was found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to SHCCJSGF201.5-2012 “Technical specification for quality supervision and spot check of knitted (thermal) underwear products in Shanghai,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4-2012 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textile-Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 8878-2014 “Knitted cotton underwear,” FZ/T 73022-2012 “Knitted thermal underwear,” FZ/T 73024-2014 “Knitted underwear with chemical fibres” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to acid/alkaline perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to light and warmth retention.

 

Down Garments

The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a product quality supervision and inspection for down garments. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; no batch was found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862 “Textile-Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 14272 “Down Garment,” and related standards declared on the labels. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry and wet rubbing, colorfastness to washing, down content, oxygen number, cleanliness, odor, duck/goose down composition and microorganism.

 

Designer Clothing

The Baishan Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a product quality supervision and inspection for designer clothing manufactured by 61 companies in Fujian, Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjing. The spot check inspected 80 batches of samples; 69 batches were found unqualified.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 5296.4 “Instruction for use of product of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862 “Textile-Identification of fiber content and related standards declared on the labels. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, Azo, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, odor, etc.
