Bedding Articles

In August, the Shanghai QTS, Hunan QTS and Chongqing Fiber Association launched a special product quality supervision for fiber products, cotton material and bedding articles.

The Shanghai QTS checked 40 batches product and found 4 batches that failed, resulting in a failure rate of 10%; the Hunan QTS checked 122 batches of bedding products and uniforms and the Chongqing Fiber Association checked 176 batches of bedding products and training uniforms.

Children’s Wear

In August, the Hubei AIC, Tianjing QTS, Jiangxi QTS, Neimenggu QTS, Shanghai QTS, Sichuan Ziyang QTS, Hefei QTS and Weifang QTS launched special product quality supervision and risk inspection for children’s wear.

This spot check was conducted according GB 5296.4-2012 "Instruction for use of products of consumer interest," GB 18401 "National general safety technical code for textile products," GB/T 29862-2013 "Instruction for use of Textiles and Apparel," GB/T 22849-2014 "Knitted T-shirts," GB/T 8878-2014 "Cotton Knitted Underwear," FZ/T 73009-2009 "Cashmere Knitted Goods," FZ/T 73018-2012 "Wool Knitted Goods," FZ/T 73020-2012 "Knitted Causal Wear," FZ/T 73025-2013 "Knitted Garment and Adornment for Infants," FZ/T 73026 -2014 "Knitted Skirt and Women’s Suit," FZ/T 73032-2009 "Knitted Jeanswear," FZ/T 73045-2013 "Knitted Children's Wear," FZ/T 81004 -2012 "Dress and Women’s Suit," FZ/T 81006-2007 "Jeanswear," FZ/T 81007-2012 "Casual Wear" and registered Enterprise Standards.

As a result, the Hunan AIC found 92 styles of products failed; the Tianjing QTS checked 16 batches children’s wear and found out 2 batches failed, resulting in failure rate of 12.5%; the Jiangxi QTS checked 20 batches of children's wear and found 1 batch that failed, resulting in a failure rate of 8.3%; the Neimenggu QTS checked 30 batches of products and found 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 3.3%; the Shanghai QTS checked 174 batches from 18 enterprises and found products from 7 enterprises failed; the Sichuan Ziyang QTS checked 4 batches and found no failures; the Hefei QTS checked 30 units of samples and no failures were found; the Weifang QTS checked 15 batches of children's wear and found 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 6.7%.

Primary reasons for failure: formaldehyde, safety requirements of cords and drawstrings, fiber content and labeling 

Footwear

In August, the Qinghai AIC, Hubei AIC, Shanghai AIC, Zhejiang QTS, Nei Men Gu QTS and Shanghai QTS launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for footwear products.

This spot check was conducted according “Product Quality Law.”

The Qinghai AIC checked 41 units leather shoes and found out 14 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 34.1%; the Hubei AIC inspection found the 89 styles failed; the Shanghai AIC checked 40 batches and found 18 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 45%; the Zhejiang QTS checked 19 batches of leather shoes and found out 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 5.3%; the Zhejiang QTS checked 11 batches of children’s leather shoes and found 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 18.2%; the Zhejiang QTS checked 16 batches of protective shoes and found that 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 6%; the Nei Meng Gu QTS inspected 15 batches of children's footwear and found no failures; the Shanghai QTS checked 32 batches and found 7 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 21.9%; the Shanghai QTS checked 50 batches of sneakers and found 4 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 8%.

Primary reasons for failure: feeling and appearance, tensile strength, flexing, colorfastness, label, shank stiffness and shank hardness

Textiles and Apparel

In August, the Shanxi QTS, Guangdong QTS, Shandong QTS, Jiangxi QTS, Zhejiang QTS, Hunan QTS, Shandong Weifang QTS, Anhui AIC, Shanghai AIC, Gansu Tianshui AIC, Qingdao Huangdao MSA and Hei Long Jiang Daqing MSA launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for textiles and apparel.

The spot checks were conducted according to GB 18401 "National general safety technical code for textile products," GB/T 5296.4-2012 "Instruction for use of products of consumer interest," GB/T 31888-2015 "School uniforms of primary and secondary students," GB/T 22854-2009 "Knitted school uniform," GB/T 23328-2009 "Woven garments for students" and GB/T 22853-2009 "Knitted sportswear."

The Shanxi QTS checked 50 batches, resulting in a compliance rate of more than 90%; the Guangdong QTS checked 300 batches of school uniforms and found that 12 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 4%; the Shandong QTS checked 40 batches of school uniforms and found that 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 5%; the Shanxi QTS checked 50 batches of school uniforms and found that 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 4%; the Zhejiang QTS checked 28 batches of fur garments and found no failures; the Zhejiang QTS checked 7 batches of leather garment and found no failures; the Hunan QTS checked 50 batches of casual wear and found 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 2%; the Weifang QTS checked 18 batches of school uniforms and found that 5 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 28%; the Shanghai QTS checked 60 batches of knitted T-shirt products and found that 3 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 5%; the Shanghai QTS checked 60 batches of shirt products and found that 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 3.3%; the Shanghai QTS checked 31 batches of swimwear products and found that 6 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 19.3%; the Shanghai QTS checked 84 batches of casual wear and found that 13 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 15.5%; the Anhui AIC checked 80 units of garments and accessories from online shops and found that 57 units failed, resulting in a failure rate of 71.3%; the Shanghai AIC checked 165 batches of products and found that 14 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 8.5%; and the Hei Long Jiang Daqing MSA checked 3 units school uniforms for quality analysis.

Primary reasons for failure: colorfastness to wet rubbing, colorfastness to light, pH value, user Instruction and labeling

In addition, AQSIQ launched quality analysis for the first half year of 2017. AQSIQ checked 201 batches of products, resulting in a compliance rate of 95%, 2.7% higher than that of 2016. The compliance rate of knitted undergarments and women’s undergarments exceeded 90%.

Home Textiles

In August, the AQSIQ and Chongqing Fiber Association launched checks for home textiles and related products.

AQSIQ checked 14 batches and all were qualified; the Chongqing Fiber Association checked 9 batches product and found 1 that failed, resulting in a failure rate of 11%.

Primary reasons for failure: fiber content and flammability

Bags

In August, the Gansu AIC, Chengdu AIC, Shanghai AIC, Jiangsu QTS and Jiangxi QTS launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for bag products.

The Shanghai AIC checked 40 batches of 24 brands and found that 25 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 62.5%; the Jiangsu QTS checked 70 batches and found that 22 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 31%; and the Jiangxi QTS checked 30 batches of travel cases and found no failures.

Primary reasons for failure: shaking impact, seam strength, colorfastness to rubbing and labeling
