Bedding Articles

In March, the Shanxi Consumer Protection Committee launched the special product quality supervision for bedding articles.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 "Instruction for use of products of consumer interest," GB 18401 "National general safety technical code for textile products," GB 18383-2007 "General technical requirements for products with filling materials," GB/T 22796-2009 "Quilts, quilt cover," GB/T 22797-2009 "Sheet," GB/T 22864-2009 "Towel," GB/T 22843-2009 "Cushion and pillow" and GB/T 24252-2009 "Silk quilts." The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, presence of odor, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration and fiber content.

As a result of the inspection of 70 batches in the Shanxi Province, 16 batches failed.

Primary failed item: fiber content

Children’s Wear

In March, the Shanxi Province Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for children’s wear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 "National general safety technical code for textile products" and FZ/T 73025-2013 "Knitted garment and adornment for infant."

The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content ,formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to wet rubbing, colorfastness to water, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to saliva, colorfastness to perspiration and colorfastness to wash and formaldehyde.

The spot check inspected a total of 30 batches, all of which passed inspection.

Casual Wear

In March, the Shanxi and Guangdong Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for casual wear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 "Instruction for use of products of consumer interest," GB/T 29862-2103 "Identification of fiber content" and GB/T 14272-2011 "Down garments."

The key items inspected on these samples were label, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to wash, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to light, down content, filling weight.

The spot check of Guangdong Province inspected a total of 162 batches and 34 batches failed. Shanxi inspected totally 467 batches and 48 batches failed.

Women’s Undergarments

In March, the Shanghai and Guangdong Province Municipal Administrations for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for women’s undergarments.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 "Instruction for use of products of consumer interest," GB/T 29862-2103 "Identification of fiber content,"

FZ/T 73012 "Brassiere," FZ/T 73019.1 "Knitted constrictive in-wear–Elastic-style,"

FZ/T 73019.2 "Knitted shape wear–Figured-style," FZ/T 73046 "Moulded bra," FZ/T 74002 "Sports brassiere" and FZ/T 81020 "Woven brassiere."

The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, banned Azo dyestuff, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to wash, colorfastness to perspiration and stretch and recovery.

Both the spot checks of Shanxi Province and Shanghai Municipality inspected a total of 60 batches and 4 batches failed.

Primary failed items: fiber content, colorfastness to water and colorfastness to perspiration

Footwear

In March, the Shanxi Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for the athletic footwear and leather footwear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB/T 15107-2013 "Athletic Shoes."

The key items inspected on these samples were sole loading, whole shoe flexing, sole abrasion, sole bond (outsole and midsole), cold flex resistance, colorfastness to rubbing, formaldehyde and banned Azo dyestuff.

The spot check inspected a total of the 100 batches, all of which passed inspection.
