Bedding Articles

In October, the Beijing QTS, Fujian OTS, Hubei QTS, Chongqing QTS, Shanxi QTS, Hu’nan QTS and Gansu QTS announced the results of special product quality supervision for bedding articles.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles-Identification of fiber content;” GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts and quilt cover,” GB/T 22797-2009 “Sheet,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and pillow” and GB/T 22844-2009 “Matched bedding.”

As a result, the Beijing QTS checked 10 batches, Fujian OTS checked 5 batches, Hubei QTS checked 16 batches, Chongqing QTS checked 10 batches and Gansu QTS checked 15 batches and found no failures. The Hu’nan QTS checked 20 batches and found 1 failure, resulting in a failure rate of 5%. The Shanxi QTS checked 50 batches and found 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 4%.

Primary failed item: fiber content 

Children’s Wear

In October, the Fujian OTS, He’nan QTS, Hubei QTS, Yantai QTS, Guangdong QTS and AIC announced the results of the special product quality supervision for children’s wear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 “Instruction for use of products of consumer interest,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and GB 31701-2015 “Safety Technical Code for Infants and Children Textile Products.”

As a result, He’nan QTS checked 20 batches of products and Yantai QTS checked 19 batches and found no failures. Fujian QTS checked 20 batches of products and found 1 batch failed, resulting in a failure rate of 5%. The Hubei QTS checked 30 batches and found that 6 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 20%. The Guangdong QTS checked 46 batches and found that 27 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 58.7%. The Guangdong AIC found 125 batches failed.

Primary failed items: label, fiber content, cords and drawstrings, pH value, formaldehyde content, seam strength, colorfastness, heavy metals and attachment strength 

Footwear

In October, the He’nan QTS, Guangdong QTS and Linyi AIC announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for footwear products.

This spot check was conducted according to “Product Quality Law” and relevant product standards.

As a result, the He’nan QTS checked 20 batches of rubber shoes and 20 batches leather shoes, and found no failures. The Guangdong QTS checked 60 batches children’s footwear and found that 15 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 25%. The Linyi AIC checked 11 batches of footwear and found that 3 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 27.3%.

Primary failed items: phthalates, extractable heavy metals, formaldehyde content, outsole hardness and outsole abrasion resistance 

Textiles and Apparel

In October, the He’nan QTS, Guangdong QTS, Guangxi QTS, Guangdong AIC and Beijing AIC Daxing sub-bureau announced the results of a special product quality supervision and inspection for textiles and apparel.

The spot checks were conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and GB/T 5296.4-2012 “Instruction for use of products of consumer interest.”

The He’nan QTS checked 5 batches of suits, 1 of them failed; 54 batches of casual wear, 13 of them failed; and 67 batches of Knitted underwear, 6 of them failed. The Guangdong QTS checked 160 batches of home textiles, 16 of them failed; and 310 batches of women’s apparel, 65 of them failed. In addition, the Guangdong also checked 155 batches of apparel, 49 of them failed. The Guangxi QTS checked 64 batches of apparel and 10 failed. The Guangdong AIC found out 191 batches of apparel and 82 batches of underwear and pajamas failed. Beijing AIC Daxing sub-bureau found out 3 batches of functional apparel failed.

Primary failed items: label, fiber content, pH value, formaldehyde content, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to light, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to water and seam slippage 

Bags

In October, the Hebei QTS and Linyi AIC announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for bags.

The Hebei QTS checked 75 batches and found that 5 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate at 6.7%. The Linyi AIC checked 12 batches and found no failures.
