In January, the Zhejiang AIC, Tianjin MSA and Ningxia QTS announced the results of the special product quality supervision for bedding articles.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles – Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts and quilt cover,” GB/T 22797-2009 “Sheet,” GB/T 22800-2009 “Textiles for star-tourist hotels,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and pillow,” GB/T 22844-2009 “Matched bedding,” GB/T 24252-2009 ”Silk quilts,” FZ/T 81005-2006 “Quilting goods” and GB 18383-2007 “General technical requirements for products with filling materials.”

The Zhejiang AIC inspected 60 batches of products and found 3 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 5%. The Tianjin MSA inspected 20 batches of products and found 9 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 45%. The Ningxia QTS inspected 12 batches of products and found 2 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 16.67%.

Primary failed items: colorfastness to rubbing, tensile strength, fiber content and use instruction

Children’s Wear

In January, the Tianjin MSA announced the results of the special product quality supervision for children’s wear.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB 31701-2015 “Safety Technical Code for Infant and Children’s Textile Products,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles-Identification of fiber content,” GB/T 22849-2014 “Knitted T-shirt,” GB/T 8878-2014 “Cotton knitted underwear,” FZ/T 73009-2009 “Cashmere knitted goods,” FZ/T 73018-2012 “Wool knitted goods,” FZ/T 73020-2012 “Knitted casual wear,” FZ/T 73025-2013 “Knitted garment and adornment for infants,” FZ/T 73026-2014 “Knitted skirt and ladies suit,” FZ/T 73029-2009 “Knitted trousers,” FZ/T 73032-2009 “Knitted jeanswear,” FZ/T 73045-2013 “Knitted children's wear,” FZ/T 81004-2012 “Dress and ladies suit,” FZ/T 81006-2007 “Jeanswear,” FZ/T 81007-2012 “Casual wear” and FZ/T 81014-2008 “Infant wear.”

The Tianjin MSA inspected 25 batches of products and found 6 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 24%.

Primary failed items: attachment strength, use instruction and fiber content

Textiles and Apparel

In January, the Zhejiang QTS, Shandong AIC, Tianjin MSA and Inner Mongolia AIC announced the results of a special product quality supervision and inspection for textiles and apparel.

The spot checks were conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest-Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles-Identification of fiber content,” FZ/T 73026-2006 ”Knitted skirt and ladies suit,” FZ/T 81004-2012 “Dress and ladies suit,” FZ/T 81007-2012 “Casual wear,” GB/T 2660-2008 “Shirts and blouses,” GB/T 14272-2011 “Down garments,” FZ/T 73009-2009 “Cashmere knitted goods,” FZ/T 73018-2012 “Wool knitted goods,” FZ/T 73005-2012 “Low wool content and wool like knitted goods,” FZ/T 73034-2009 “Semi-worsted wool knitted goods,” GB/T 8878-2014 “Cotton knitted underwear,” FZ/T 73012-2008 “Brassiere,” FZ/T 73017-2014 “Knitted home textiles,” FZ/T 73024-2014 “Knitted underwear with chemical fibres”, FZ/T 73029-2009 ”Knitted trousers”, FZ/T 81001-2007 “Pajamas,” GB/T 22700-2008 “Washed garments,” GB/T 22849-2014 “Knitted T-shirt,” GB/T 22853-2009 ”Knitted sportswear,” GB/T 29868-2013 “General technical criterion for knitted sports protection article,” GB/T 26385-2011 “Knitted patchwork clothing,” GB/T 32614-2016 “Outdoor sportswear – Water resistant garment,” FZ/T 73020-2012 ”Knitted casual wear” and FZ/T 81008-2011 “Jackets.”

The Zhejiang QTS checked 80 batches of garments and 24 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 30%. The Liaocheng AIC of Shandong checked 21 batches of winter garments and 10 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 47.62%. The Zhaozhuang AIC of Shandong checked 31 batches of knitted wears and 10 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 32.26%. The Inner Mongolia AIC found 23 batches of wool/cashmere knitted garments failed.

The Tianjin MSA checked 10 batches of skirts/dresses and 1 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 10%, while 3 batches of 10 shirts/blouses failed, resulting in a failure rate of 30%, 1 batch of 10 down garments failed, resulting in a failure rate of 10%, also 5 batches of 20 wool/cashmere knitted garments failed, resulting in a failure rate of 25%, likewise, 5 batches of 20 knitted home textiles and 5 batches of 20 sportwear both failed.

Primary failed items: fiber content, colorfastness to water, use instruction, colorfastness to wet/dry rubbing, colorfastness to acid/alkali perspiration, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to light & perspiration, colorfastness to light, colorfastness to dry cleaning, formaldehyde content, pilling resistance and down content

Footwear

In January, the Beijing AIC, Zhejiang QTS and Tianjin MSA announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection of footwear products.

This spot check was conducted according to GB 20400-2006 “Leather and fur-Limit of harmful matter,” QB/T 2955-2008 “Casual shoes,” QB/T 1002-2015 “Leather shoes,” GB/T 15107-2013 “Athletic footwear,” QB/T 2880-2016 “Children’s leather shoes,” QB/T 4331-2012 “Children’s athletic footwear” and GB 30585-2014 “Safety technical specification for children's footwear.”

The Beijing AIC found 38 batches of children’s footwears failed, the Tianjin MSA checked 10 batches of children’s footwears and found no failure.

Primary failed items: label, appearance, delamination resistance, upper pull out strength, abrasion resistance,whole shoe flexing, outsole hardness, minimum length of shanks, stiffness of shanks, total heavy metal, formaldehyde content, hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and phthalates

The Zhejiang AIC checked 26 batches of leather sandals and found that 1 failed, resulting in a failure rate of 3.85%. The Jiangxi AIC found 67 batches of footwear failed.

The Tianjin MSA checked 12 batches of casual shoes and 12 batches of athletic footwear, no failure was found, while 2 batches out of 12 leather shoes failed, resulting in a failure rate of 16.67%.

Primary failed items: hardness of shanks, whole shoe flexing, colorfastness, upper pull out strength, flexing resistance of shanks, delamination resistance, minimum length of shanks, mark of shanks, label and abrasion resistance

Bags

In January, the Zhejiang AIC and Tianjin MSA announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for bags.

This spot check was conducted according to QB/T 2155-2010 “Travelling case and trolley bag,” GB 20400-2006 “Leather and fur Limit of harmful matter,” QB/T 1333-2010 “Handbag and knapsack” and QB/T 2858-2007 “Schoolbag.”

The Zhejiang AIC checked 75 batches and found that 30 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 40%.

The Tianjin MSA checked 12 batches of travelling cases and trolley bags, 8 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 66.67%, while 1 batch of 12 schoolbags failed, resulting in a failure rate of 8.33%.

Primary failed items: drop impact property, label and Azo dyes
