China’s State Administration for Market regulation released three important notices on November 26th and 30th, 2019, the key information is as follows:

  • “The interim measures for the management of product quality supervision and spot checks” will come into effect on January 1st, 2020. The No. 133rd measure published by the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), the No. 61st and No. 85th measure published by the former State Administration for Industry & Commerce (SAIC) shall be abolished simultaneously.
  • “The interim provisions on the administration of recall of consumer goods” will come into effect on January 1st, 2020. The No. 101st about the “The provisions on recall of children's toys” published by the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) shall be abolished.
  • “The interim measures for handling complaints and reports concerning market supervision and administration” will come into effect on January 1st, 2020. The No. 51st measure published by the former Bureaus of Quality and Technical Supervision (QTS), the No. 62nd published by the former State Administration for Industry & Commerce (SAIC) and the No. 21st published by the former State Food and Drug Administration shall be abolished.
