U.S. CPSC revised the Safety Standard for Non-Full-Size Baby Cribs and Play Yards

CPSC Updates Safety Standards for Baby Cribs, Play Yards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recently issued a direct final rule to update the safety standards for non-full-size baby cribs and play yards, codified under 16 CFR parts 1220 and 16 CFR 1221, respectively. This action reflects the CPSC’s ongoing commitment to enhancing product safety for infants and toddlers.
The direct final rule incorporates by reference the most recent version of ASTM F406-24, the “Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Non-Full-Size Baby Cribs/Play Yards.”, with the following exclusions of some tests and requirements:

The updated standards will become effective on April 5, 2025.
