Understanding Modern Slavery in Your Supply Chain
According to the Global Slavery Index, nearly 46 million people worldwide, or 0.5% of the world’s population, live in modern slavery.
As a result, governments around the world have implemented regulations to combat the issue. The UK government issued statutory guidance relating to supply chain transparency and reporting obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The intent behind this Act is to help prevent employment exploitation and increase disclosure of labour practices. Those organisations that fall under the jurisdiction of the Act, will need to demonstrate through reporting and specific actions taken that modern slavery is not an issue in-house and within their supply chain.
This webinar provides an overview of the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015, and other governmental regulations like it and their implications for business. It will also explore the risks of human trafficking and forced labour in global supply chains, and what steps you can take to manage this.
