Benefits of Using NDT Inspection to Quantify Internal Damage or Flaws of a Composite Material
Download our free on-demand webinar on the “Benefits of Using NDT Inspection to Quantify Internal Damage or Flaws of a Composite Material.”
Due to the nature of manufacture and structure of a composite material, internal flaws or damage can be nearly impossible to detect without some form of non-destructive testing. There are numerous ways to look inside a composite such as ultrasonic, radiography, thermography, acoustic emission, modal analysis (such as instrumented tap testing) and eddy-current testing. Each method has its own benefits and drawbacks, as our presenter Matt Brady will examine.
Among the topics discussed, include:
- Definitions of the current practices
- Inherent benefits and drawbacks of each
- Show the difference in doing manual inspection versus NDT for D7136
- Examples of ultrasonic scans
