Collagen fabric has gained popularity for use in activewear because of the anti-aging and moisturizing benefits it delivers to wearers. Intertek uses a process to hydrolyze collagen to obtain hydroxyproline, a major component of collagen. By identifying the amount of hydroxyproline in test samples, Intertek can determine the collagen content of textiles and active apparel.
Collagen fabric is commonly used in fitted active apparel, undergarments & hosiery, accessories (socks, arm sleeves) and sportswear (jeans, t-shirts).
