Safety is crucial in developing road vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles. This program covers industry-specific requirements for electrical and electronic components, focusing on practical applications to reduce costs and risks from errors and hardware failures. With extensive experience in functional safety, Intertek provides the expertise needed to implement ISO 26262 standards effectively.

The training outlines the key activities required to comply with ISO 26262. Proper implementation of this standard is strongly recommended to address product liability concerns. During development, it is essential to provide evidence of performing a comprehensive set of safety activities at the appropriate stages to prevent systematic failures and random hardware errors.

In addition to our training program, we offer an examination that certifies your expertise and competence in functional safety according to the ISO 26262 standard for road vehicles. Upon completion, you will receive certification verifying that you meet all the necessary prerequisites and possess the expertise required to take responsibility for the safety lifecycle.

By completing all four ISO 26262 training modules, you will be well-prepared for the Intertek Functional Safety Certification Program (IFSCP). While it is possible to take the exam without attending the training modules, we highly recommend completing them to ensure thorough preparation before the examination.

Course Description

The ISO 26262 Functional Safety Module 2 course, "From Item Definition to Risk Analysis, FSC, and TSC," is a full-day program focusing on key aspects of the ISO 26262 standard. It covers:

  • Part 3: Concept Phase
  • Part 4: Product Development at the System Level
  • Part 8: Supporting Processes
  • Part 9: ASIL-Oriented and Safety-Oriented Analyses

This module is designed for professionals responsible for creating and implementing functional, conceptual, and system development projects, as well as for all users of ISO 26262. Participants will learn the principles of hazard and risk analysis, how to derive safety objectives and ASIL parameters, and how to apply these results to the functional safety concept.

Additionally, the course provides an introduction to creating system requirement specifications and developing a technical safety concept during the system phase. It explores the unique responsibilities of various roles, such as OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers, and their practical relevance to the automotive industry.

By the end of this module, participants will understand the essential steps of concept and system development according to ISO 26262, as well as the prerequisites for hardware and software development phases. Upon completion, each participant will receive a certificate of attendance.

Objectives

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the functional safety processes, methodologies, and safety activities, including specification, testing, verification, and validation. It ensures participants adopt a robust and compliant approach to functional safety.

Who Should Attend

his course is ideal for personnel involved in the safety lifecycle who wish to deepen their expertise in managing and developing safety-related systems for vehicles. It is particularly suited for: executives and managers, project leaders, hardware and software engineers, component suppliers, test specialists, software and tool providers.

Participants will gain the knowledge and practical insights necessary to align with ISO 26262 standards. Upon completing all four modules, attendees will be familiar with the entire safety lifecycle and the required safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262.

Benefits
